- In Swearingen v. Portfolio Recovery Associates, LLC, 892 F. Supp.2d 987 (N.D.Ill. 2012), a lawsuit was brought against Portfolio Recovery Associates, for violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act of 1977 (FDCPA), when Portfolio Recovery Associates threatened the debtor over the phone.
- In Dunham v. Portfolio Recovery Associates, LLC, 663 F.3d 997 (8th Cir. 2011), a lawsuit was brought against Portfolio Recovery, alleging a violation of the FDCPA when Portfolio Recovery Associates sent a collection letter to the Plaintiff for debt owed by another person with same name.

In Portfolio Recovery Associates, LLC v. E.C., the Defendant was sued by Portfolio Recovery for a debt owed in the amount of $8,600. After representation by our firm, we settled with Portfolio Recovery for total amount of $2,500.
In Portfolio Recovery Associates, LLC v. A.S., the Defendant was sued by Portfolio Recovery for a debt owed in the amount of $3,500. After representation by our firm, Portfolio stipulated to discontinue the lawsuit.
